Interpretation and response
This event is recorded as “SCA summary: $(sca.policy): Score less than 30% ($(sca.score))”. Review the originating log and the affected host or service to determine whether the activity was expected.
An OSSEC/HIDS event records or correlates activity. Blocking depends on the originating application and any separately configured Active Response policy; an alert alone does not prove that an attack was blocked.
Documentation
The following guidance was migrated from the historical wiki and reviewed against the rule definition. Legacy ASL product names and interface instructions refer to the versions documented then. Use the current metadata above and your installed configuration when interpreting thresholds, notification settings and response behavior.
Description
The CIS Compliance scanner is reporting that the systems overall compliance score is less than 30%
What you should do
This means that the CIS compliance framework tests are scoring less than 30%. Inspect the compliance report and identify if their are any endpoint settings that need to be updated based on the the framework.
For some regulatory frameworks, a score below a certain point may require the system to be shut down or taken out of service until the system security controls are brought back into compliance.
Troubleshooting
